ATMECE Graduation Day: VTU has plans for early announcement of results, says Registrar

Mysuru: Graduation Day of the outgoing students of 2019-2023 batch was organised at ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), Mysuru on June 24.

The ceremony began with the rendition of a patriotic song.

Principal of ATMECE Dr A K Murthy requested the President of the ceremony and the Secretary of the institute K Shivashankar to declare the Graduation day Ceremony Open.

Further, Principal Murthy welcomed the gathering and briefed about the institution and introduced both the guests of the ceremony.

The students of various engineering branches were distributed Course Completion Certificate by the chief guest and the other dignitaries. The toppers of each branch as well as the toppers in subjects as specified by the donors were honoured with cash prizes.

Registrar (Evaluation), Visvesvaraya Technological University, Balagavi, Dr T N Srinivasa, addressed the students and said ‘with the fast growing technology, students have to develop their knowledge and skill and has to be updated regularly. The student career starts with Graduation Day and he always should develop good self- attitude along with individual growth without a supervisor.”

Dr Srinivasa was of the opinion that engineers are the backbone of the society and they should go on improving their efficiency.

Dr Srinivasa cited the example of newly constructed ten lane Mysuru- Bengaluru Expressway, reducing the journey time to mere one-and-a-half hours, showing India’s prosperity.

He assured that VTU would be working as a student –centric University.

Dr Srinivasa also informed the student community that several reforms would be brought about by VTU including announcement of the final semester results within one week from the day of the last examination and providing a tamper-free and good quality degree certificate and so on.

Dr Srinivasa mentioned that today’s engineering students are at cross roads having many avenues for the development and opined that students should develop good attitude and skills, thereby emerging out as job providers rather than being job seekers.

In continuation of this, he mentioned that nobody is perfect and the failures would teach us a lesson for betterment and success would be a milestone.

Dr Srinivasa advised the students to have a positive attitude by realising that every alphabet is good meditation, every plant could be a medicine, every person could be a competent person and hence each student has to realise the values, ethics and knowledge.

Finally, he appreciated the GC and the management for having provided very good infrastructure for ATMECE, amidst the vast panoramic beauty and well qualified faculty.

Guest of honour Natesh Palahalli, Delivery Managar, DXC,Technology-GD India, addressed the gathering and opined that “lot of technological opportunities are available in India owing to the fast-changing technology with new challenges.”

However, Palahalli advised that developing a good attitude, effort and skill set, the students would harness the above said opportunities.

Palahalli told the students, ABCD, a set of alphabets meaning ‘Attitude, Belief, Confidence and Dream’ which could be the key stones for achieving the above targets.

Palahalli concluded his speech with final word that ‘with the management of various situations along with self-motivation and updating of knowledge could be the most required cutting edge policy for the development of India.’

Shivashankar K, the president of Graduation Day ceremony, administered oath to outgoing students.

Dr Chidanada Gowda K, Dr Syed Shakeeb-Ur-Rehman, Venkatesh H and Dheerendra Kumar R Mehta, GC members of ATMECE graced the occasion with their august presence.

Dr L Basavaraj, Director, IQAC, Dr M S Govinde Gowda, Dean-Academics, Dr Bhagyashree S R, Dean, Research, Dr Parthasarathy L, Program Chief coordinator and HOD, Dept.of EEE, heads of various departments, staff members, parents and students were present in the ceremony.

The programme was compered by Dr Shakunthala, Maria Sushma, Swapna H, Soumyashree, Shreeshayana R and Dr Sathish K, Asst. Professors, Dept. of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
