Angeekam, the fight against endosulfan on screen

Mysuru: Endosulfan, the very word brings into mind the collage of the dreaded evil that continues to scare people at Dakshina Kannada and surrounding districts.

There are thousands of victims who are still living to tell the catastrophe caused by the insecticide that was supposed to kill the pests harming cashew plantations. It has been brought on silver screen with the film titled- Angeekam.

It is directed by Chandra Prabha of Majabharata a comedy show fame. Prabha told media on Saturday ‘ the interactions with the real victims firms the crux of the movie to give a strong message to society about the cruel face of insecticides’.

Aditya a visually challenged boy has played a key role, along with other actors having roots in reality shows.

Prabha exuded confidence that the film will be an eye opener for farmers and government.

Noted poet Channaveera Kanavi has penned lyrics for two songs and newcomer and Mysurean Atishay Jain has scored music.

The film is produced by Halati Lokesh, a publisher by profession.
