Mysuru: Jackfruit Festival at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in the city is attracting people from all parts of the city.
The two-day festival organised by Sahaja Samrudha and Rotary Club of Mysore West has varieties of the fruit on offer.
About 20 temporary stalls are opened with farmers from across the State wooing fruit lovers.
Apart from the regular variety of fruit, the other varieties with mild and high sugar content are also being sold.
Sooragappa Ramesh an organic farmer from Devanur is selling saplings of types of the fruit. Vietnam super and Bhyrachandra species of saplings are more in demand.
Ice-cream, payasa, bhajji and kebab all made of Jackfruit are setting hunger pangs.
Rotarian John Mathews inaugurated the festival in the presence of Indian Horticultural Research Centre Director M R Dinesh.
