Amit Shah and Yediyurappa discuss internal clashes and poll strategy over breakfast

Bengaluru: Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a breakfast meeting with former chief minister and BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa at the latter’s residence here on Friday. The Home Minister who is on a Karnataka tour from today, is reported to have discussed various poll strategie with Yediyurappa. They also discussed internal clashes within the party as that may impact on poll outcome in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Minister Shah also interacted with Yediyurappa’s son and Party State vice president B Y Vijayendra and encouraged him to involve himself in strengthening the party. Vijayendra is a ticket aspirant and is hoping to contest either from Shikaripura or Varuna.

The Union Home Minister who arrived in Bengaluru last night is said to have spoken to minister Somanna, who is allegedly upset within the party. BJP insiders say the meeting was successful in resolving the Sommanna issue.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai accompanied minister Shah to Yediyurappa’s residence.
