Amidst lockdown, hospitals now offer consultation over phone

Mysuru: With the nation under complete lockdown due to Covid-19, people suffering from other illnesses are finding it difficult to reach out to the doctor.
Considering this, the State government has issued guidelines for the health fraternity to make use of the technology to treat the needy.
Many hospitals in the City are operating their Out Patients Division (OPD) through telephone in this emergent situation. This is also effective in avoiding unnecessary gathering at the OPD thus threatening the spread of the Corona virus.
City-based DRM Multi-Specialty Hospital chief Dr Manjunath BH told Mysoorunews.com that most of the hospitals and doctors including medical staff are working round-the-clock to fight the Corona Virus.
“But to reach out to the needs of people suffering from other illnesses, we are providing consultation through telephone. Everyday, at least 40-50 consultations are done through telephone,” said Dr Manjunath.
