Bengaluru: A Karnataka cadre IPS officer is also among those stranded in Afghanistan.

Savitha Hande who is on United Nation’s peace keeping mission since 2000 is now working as a senior security officer to UN in Kabul the Afghan capital now under Taliban.
Savitha Hande who had served in various capacities in Karnataka from assistant SP to SP was promoted to central service and deputed to work in Afghanistan.
Savitha a 1990 batch IPS officer had worked along with incumbent Benglauru city Police Commissioner Kamal Panth and ADGP Railways Bhaskar Rao in her early days in the service.
Savitha Hande who is passionate about her service, has worked in many peace missions of United Nations ever since her first assignment in Kosovo in 2000.
