A mockery of public toilet at hobli level

Mandya: The State Government is struggling hard to make the districts open defecation free (ODF). Given the challenges at ground level, it seems to be a distant dream to achieve it fully.
Take for example Devalapura hobli in Nagamangala taluk in the district. Two separate toilets were built for men and women under Gram Panchayat fund in 2004- 05.
It has been reduced into a waste disposal site due to lack of proper maintenance. Whenever it is brought to the notice of authorities they harp on building a new toilet, but nothing has materialised yet.
The panchayat authorities have turned a blind eye. When the local bodies in general are thinking of building hi- tech toilets, why are the authorities in Devalapura still in deep slumber.
