ULB polls: BJP reign starts in Gundlupet TMC

Chamarajanagar: In the election to various urban local bodies in the district, BJP has wrested power in Gundlupet town municipal council ( TMC) in the district.

As per the results declared on Friday, BJP has won in 13 of 23 wards, Congress eight, and one each of SDPI and independent candidate. JD( S) has failed to open account.

Winning candidates of BJP are- Sajeeda Begum ( Ward 1), Heena Kouser ( Ward 3), G S Kiran ( Ward 4), Deepika Ashwin ( Ward 5), Rangaswamy ( Ward 9), Nagesh ( Ward 10), P Girish ( Ward 12), Pushpa ( Ward 13), Kumar S ( Ward 14), Mahadevamma ( Ward 19), Rani Lakshmidevi ( Ward 20), Ramesha ( 22) and Veena ( Ward 23).

Congress- G S Madhusudhan ( Ward 6), Mohammed Iliyas ( Ward 7), R Bhagyalakshmi ( Ward 11), L Nirmala ( Ward 15), Srinivas ( Ward 16), Annapurna ( Ward 17), Annaiah Swamy ( Ward 18) and N Kumar ( Ward 21).

Social democratic party of India ( SDPI)- Rajagopala H R ( Ward 2).

Independent- Shashidhar P ( Ward 8).
