Students pledge for integrity, corruption free nation

Mysuru: Students and faculty of JSS Arts, Commerce and Science College, Ooty road in the city have taken a pledge to maintain integrity and build a corruption free nation.
The college in association with The New India Assurance Company Limited had organised ‘Vigilance Awareness Week- 2019’ on October 28.

Senior divisional managers of the insurance company Somanath Rao and Sumangala who stressed on ‘integrity and corruption free nation’ urged everybody to follow integrity as a fundamental value’.
Prof B V Sambashivaiah a chief executive of the college gave an account of level and percentage of corruption in various countries. He suggested the gathering to adopt integrty as a way of life and stay away from corrupt practices.
Thanushree C U a first year MCom student was given a first prize in an essay competition organised on the topic ‘Integrity- a way of life’ as part of the Vigilance Week. Pooja T R a second year MA in English literature, second prize, Neeraj K Nanaiah first year MSc in Chemistry third prize and Monica P R a student of first year MSc in bio- chemistry was given fourth prize.
Assistant Professor M Shivakumar read out the pledge.
Principal Prof M Mahadevappa, HoD, Commerce, Prof H C Honnappa, Assistant professor Dr Asha G S and Assistant professor Shyamala M were present.
