GP member warned against campaigning for BJP’s Somanna at Varuna; legal cell moves Poll Officer

Mysuru: District convener of BJP Legal Cell and advocate C K Rudramurthy has lodged a complaint to District Election Officer, urging for externment of five persons who allegedly assaulted and abused a BJP leader cum Gram Panchayat member at Mannehundi, T Narsipur taluk, Mysuru district, threatening him not to campaign for Varuna candidate V Somanna.
In a complaint Rudramurthy has stated that ‘Nagaraju P the BJP leader was waiting for Somanna outside the village on Monday at 7.10 pm. Basavaraju alias Udari, Mahesh, Suresh, another Mahesh and Puttananja, abused and assaulted Nagaraju, besides issuing a threat to him.’
These miscreants are showing goonda behaviour and trying to disturb peace and provoke clashes during election. There are possibilities of repeating the behaviour. They should be externed from Varuna Assembly constituency at least till the election is over, for their anti-constitutional behaviour, stated Rudramurthy.
