BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa sent to jail till April 11

Bengaluru: BJP MLA from Channagiri, Madal Virupakshappa has been remanded to judicial custody till April 11 by a city court on Saturday. He has been sent to Parappana Agrahara Central prisons. MLA Virupakshappa is facing charges in a corruption case after his son and BWSSB chief accountant officer Madal Prashant was arrested with Rs 40 lakh unaccounted cash at his father’s office in Bengaluru on March 2.
Soon after his son’s arrest, MLA Virupakshappa had gone underground and was arrested on March 27, after his bail plea was rejected by the High court.
Madal Virupakshappa’s son is already housed in Parappana Agrahara jail.
