Ayudha Puja at Palace! Yaduveer performs rituals, keeps alive decades old tradition

Mysuru: Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar offered puja as part of Ayudha puja at Savari Thotti in Mysuru Palace premises on Tuesday.
The caparisoned royal elephants, horses, war weapons, chariot, palanquin and several other articles of the royal family with antique value were all worshipped at the palace under the supervision of priests.
Tuesday is the ninth day of Navarathri celebrated at Mysore Palace.
Prior to this, puja was performed to good old weapons at Kannadi Totti.
While puja was performed to Pattada Aane, Pattada Kudure, Pattada Hasu and a fleet of swanky cars of Wadiyars at Savari Thotti.
The ceremony concluded with the rendition of Kayo Sri Gowri, Karuna Lahari, the State anthem of Wadiyars.
Yaduveer dressed in royal robes performed the rituals, under the watchful eyes of his mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar who was witnessing the ceremony from the window in the first floor.
The rituals that date back to several decades are still practiced in toto by the Wadiyars even after the princely rule ceases to exist.
The hours long ceremony gives a peek into the regal ceremony that was full of pomp and gaiety during the princely rule.
