It’s not Jumbo Circus! Elephant crosses metal barricade in Bandipur forest area

Mysuru: While the forest personnel are largely relying on used railway tracks to build elephant proof trenches (EPT), the gentle giants are finding it an easy task to cross over.
A video of an elephant crossing the iron barricade at Omkar range forest of Bandipur National Tiger Reserve forest has surfaced on internet.
The elephant is seen crossing its forelegs first and clings on the barricade on its stomach and pushes itself forward to lift the hind legs and cross over to the other side completely.
However, this is not the first such instance. But the question remains over how far the barricades can be useful in preventing the pachyderms, from straying into human habitats from the wild.
