Recent Trends in Digital Wellness and Cyber Security

Mysuru: Department of Computer Science & Engineering organised a webinar and first level Training on “Recent Trends in Digital Wellness and Cyber Security” in association with Information Systems and Security Association (ISSA STUDENT CHAPTER) of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru.

This programme was held online, for the benefit of the students to provide awareness on the current trends in cyber security, digital citizenship, digital rights & responsibilities, cyber ethics & digital etiquette, cyber health & wellness, misinformation and cyber laws.

The students of both Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in CSE attended the workshop organized on May 31.

The resource persons for the Webinar were I L Narasimha Rao, Senior Project Manager and Janice Verghese, Cyber lawyer and Cyber Security Specialist of Cyber Peace Foundation.

They provided training on cyber security, digital citizenship, digital rights & responsibilities, cyber ethics & digital etiquette, cyber health & wellness, misinformation and cyber laws.

To impart skills and help make the upcoming tech professionals industry ready, the Cyber Peace Foundation in collaboration with AICTE has undertaken Project eSaksham to provide Cyber Security Training in  four levels of from basic to advanced, aimed at creating awareness and building team of highly skilled professionals in the information security domain.

The 365 students who attended the webinar focusing on the first level training will receive certificates after the assessment.

At the end students shared their feedback about the program which was really beneficial for them and was a felt as a need for the hour, according to Mahanthesh U, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
