Mysuru: A day after triggering a controversy over allegedly taking out a night safari at Bandipur National Park, Sandalwood actor Dhanvir Gowda turned up for inquiry.

Like a hero on the big screen, Dhanvir in real life probe clarified before the forest officials that he did not take night safari, but it was during the onset of dusk he was inside the forest.

Dhanvir who appeared before RFO Naveen Kumar at Melukamanahalli coming under G S Betta range of Bandipur on Saturday told the investigation officer that ” The moment the tiger was spotted in the forest was between 6.27 pm and 6.31 pm. However, it has been wrongly portrayed as night hours”.

Dhanvir who also produced the photos in his possession with the timings above also told that “By the time I came for safari here on Thursday, it was 4.30 pm. But I got the vehicle at 5 pm and exited the forest at 6.45 pm. I had hired a 10 seater vehicle after paying the due fees and also took the photos after clarifying with the forest personnel. Moreover there were few more vehicles at that time inside the forest”.

The RFO told the actor that “We have been strictly abiding by the rules irrespective of celebrity and tourists. We have been been ensuring that the last vehicle on safari is permitted at or before 4.45 pm daily, as the timings may stretch sometimes”.

As the video went viral on Friday, the animal lovers were also under the impression that Dhanvir had taken a night safari and had vented their anguish over the actor for violating the rules.
