Krishna Kumar, the keynote speaker for the SDMIMD’s Annual Entrepreneurship Event – StartUp Charcha, the annual culmination event of the activities of Swayam – the e-Cell of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), speaking about the things to be taken care of by the entrepreneurs, Kumar said, ‘building a product nobody wants; flawed business model; not building a great culture; not creating enough differentiation; and burning yourself out – are the things which entrepreneurs should not do in their entrepreneurial journey’.
Kumar concluded with the 3As as the key takeaway of the talk – Assessment, Acquiring, Act. He explained the country’s current context, which is favorable to the entrepreneurs, said to start with an honest assessment of the startup, acquiring knowledge, network & resource, and it’s time to act on the regulatory, funding, and incubate/accelerate.
Earlier, Dr SN Prasad, Deputy Director, SDMIMD, welcomed the keynote speaker and Dr MR Suresh, Chairperson – Swayam e-Cell & Professor of Marketing, SDMIMD, presented the vote of thanks. The special issue on Entrepreneurship in SDMIMD Student’s Online Magazine – Dimensions, was released by Mr Krishna Kumar during the event.
The panel discussion followed the inaugural event on the topic ‘Mainstreaming Entrepreneurship’ moderated by Dr MR Suresh. The distinguished panelists were Karthik BK, an alumnus of SDMIMD, Managing Partner, Moneyline; Theja Mohan, an alumnus of SDMIMD and Founder, Wise Money; Dr Nandakishore Shetty, Associate Professor-Marketing, SDMIMD and Vijay Krishnamurthy, Research scholar, SDMIMD and Sports entrepreneur. The event was attended by the invitees, entrepreneurs, students from other business schools, faculty and students of SDMIMD.
