‘Zoos of Karnataka’ mobile application launched! It’s an initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’

Mysuru: Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) on Wednesday launched Zoos of Karnataka App.
 
 
Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Forest Minister Anand Singh launched the app.
 
The day coincides with World Tiger Day observed every year on July 29.
 
Zoo Authority of Karnataka and Mysuru Zoo jointly designed the mobile application that will help shore up the revenue through animal adoption programme.
 
Yaduveer who appreciated the initiative of ZAK to go digital, said “It will also help in the conservation of animals”.
 
Member Secretary of ZAK B P Ravi said “the app was developed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat to make the country self- reliant”.
 
Mysuru Zoo is actively involved in the conservation of animals for more than 125 years in animal conservation. Zoo has immensely contributed to wildlife especially in the conservation of tiger the National animal. Many a times tigers stray out of forest and creates man animal conflict, while zoo has played a role in rescue and rehabilitation”.
 
Ravi said “Rescue operations are now easier and not a burden as it also develops a bond between people and forest staff. People are also cooperating in rescue operations”. Koorgalli Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation center is doing its bit”.
 
Yaduveer visited the enclosures of Tiger and Jaguar.
