Yuva Brigade activist’s murder: BJP leaders allege accused have links with Congress leaders, demand fair trial

Mysuru: BJP leaders who visited the family of Venugopal Nayak, Yuva Brigade activist, who was hacked to death in T Narasipura on Sunday, alleged that the accused have a link with some of the Congress leaders and demanded a fair trial into it.

BJP leaders including party general secretary C T Ravi and MLA Dr C N Ashwathanarayan visited Nayak family and offered their condolences on Tuesday. They were part of the fact-finding committee set up by party State president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Speaking to mediapersons here, BJP leader C T Ravi said that it appears that the Congress government has Taliban mindset. Since it came to power, those speaking for Hindutva are being targeted. He alleged that the accused in Nayak’s murder have link with some of the Congress leaders and hence demanded a fair investigation.

He also spoke on the brutal murder of Jain seer Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj in Belagavi district. “The government is misleading the people in the murder of Jain seer. It is being projected that the seer was murdered over financial reasons. How can a Jain seer indulge in money lending.” he sought to know.

MLA Dr Ashwathanarayan demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation and a job to Nayak’s wife.
