Youngest Telangana MLA killed in car accident

Hyderabad: Youngest MLA of Telangana Lasya Nandita died in a road mishap on outer ring Road near Hyderabad on Friday morning.

Lasya, the 37-year-old Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA representing Secunderabad Cantonment Constituency, succumbed to the injuries, while her driver Akash and gunman were injured. The MLA was seated in the front, when the car collided with a road crash barrier. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, it is said.

According to the Police, BRS MLA was travelling in her Maruti XL6 car from Basara towards Gatchibowli. It is suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep, ending up in ramming the vehicle to the crash barrier. The vehicle has sustained significant damages in the front side.

A former Corporator, Lasya Nanditha made her debut in politics after the death of her father, Sayanna, a popular MLA of the Secunderabad Cantonment Constituency, in February 2023.

She is survived by her mother G Geetha, sisters Namratha and Niveditha.
