Young entrepreneurial duo Harsha & Urvashi Melanta inspire at TiE Mysuru Founder series

Mysuru: TiE Mysuru recently hosted an inspiring edition of the Founder’s Series, featuring the dynamic entrepreneurial couple, Harsha Melanta and Urvashi Melanta of the city.

The fireside chat, moderated by Ashwin Dange, Business Head at GRS Fantasy Park, offered valuable insights into the couple’s remarkable journey from humble beginnings to becoming successful restaurateurs and caterers.

The discussion began with Harsha Melanta sharing his entrepreneurial journey, which started in 2000 when he founded Grand Tour Advertising in Mysuru. In 2013, he ventured into the hospitality industry with the launch of “By The Way” restaurant, marking the couple’s entry into the food and beverage sector. Urvashi, who began her career in human resources, spoke about her transition to entrepreneurship and how mutual support and understanding became the foundation of their success.

Over the years, the couple expanded their culinary footprint with the launch of the popular “Fish Curry Rice” chain, renowned for its authentic Mangalorean cuisine. They also established “Mysore Union,” an iconic club in the city, and “North Avenue,” an open-air arena. During the session, the couple emphasised the importance of building strategic partnerships based on trust, mutual respect and collective growth.

Sharing his success mantra, Harsha highlighted the four essential pillars of success: Family, Friends, Finance and Fitness. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced score of at least 7 out of 10 across these pillars to achieve holistic success.

The couple also spoke about their journey from running individual restaurants to becoming one of Bangalore’s most sought-after outdoor caterers, capable of managing events with up to 20,000 guests. They expressed their vision of further expanding their presence in the outdoor catering and decor sector, citing immense growth potential.

The event concluded with an interactive Q& A session, leaving the audience motivated and inspired.

More than 100 entrepreneurs, startups, faculty members, and students attended the session and gained valuable knowledge on entrepreneurship and scalability.
