Mysooru: “I am a probationary IPS officer, arrange vehicle for my family tour”. This was how a 35 year old man ordered a subordinate police officer believing that he will enjoy his service to hilt. But that was not the case to be, as his identity was busted as he was not the IPS officer.
The accused Dileep is now cooling his heels behind bars at Central Prisons Mysuru. A jobless BE graduate he had allegedly taken a con route only to deceive people. What he wanted was the perks that come with the civil service and the monetary benefit. However his luck ran out, when he reportedly called the Inspector of K R Station V Narayan Swamy.
To create an impression he had allegedly forged the copy of recruitment of IPS officers in 2017. He had falsely taken the benefit with serial number 114 that actually belonged to Padam Singh of Haryana State allotted with Kerala cadre.
All these came to light as the accused himself spilled the beans during enquiry at the police station on April 19.
Before that the police inspector had meticulously enquired into his claims and after finding it to be a case of fraudster at play, he had sent a vehicle to his doorstep and brought him to station, only to catch him lying.
Dileep has been booked under various sections of IPC including 420 for cheating.
