Yoga on terrace! Mysuru will have virtual yoga day this year

Mysuru: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call avoid mass gathering and do yoga at home in view of the Covid-19 scare on International Yoga Day – June 21, the Mysuru Yoga Federation will hold virtual yoga this year.  

Addressing the media here on Wednesday MLA S A Ramadass said that “unlike every year, people will perform yoga in their houses, itself, to avoid mass gathering. Those who are participating can record their asanas and post it on social media, which would be later documented by the federation. Besides, the federation has decided to encourage people to do yoga at their house terrace or at least in their houses. The federation plans to organse one lakh participants for the day which would be shot on helicopter. The federaton has requested the government to allow heli-videography.
 
Yoga federation chief Ganesh Kumar and G S Srihari said “as per the protocol from Ayush department, the video protocols and printed material on the importance of the day has been distributed to all the participats. They will perform yoga asanas at their house terrace on June 21 at 6.45 am”, they added.
