Yediyurappa named BJP parliamentary board member

New Delhi: In a significant development, a new 11-member BJP parliamentary board was announced on Wednesday. Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa has found a place in the board.

It includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. While Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have been dropped from the board, former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are the new inclusions.

Yediyurappa’s new role has come close on the heels of his recent announcement to stay away from electoral politics and vacate his Shikaripura Assembly seat for his son and BJP State vice-president B Y Vijayendra.

While his elder son B Y Raghavendra is the sitting Shivamogga MP.
