Yaduveer not to accept ‘International Kannada Ratna’ Award

Mysuru: Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has decided not to accept ‘International Kannada Ratna’ Award announced by Kannada community at UAE.
In a detailed letter released from Yaduveer’s office, The Palace, Mysore on Friday, it is explained as follows.
“It has come to my notice that news of the International Kannada Ratna being conferred on me is being circulated in print and in social media”.
I wish to inform all concerned that I will not be accepting this award.
I thank the organisers for considering me fit to receive this honour, but I do not consider it appropriate to receive this award at this point in time.
I will always endeavour to work for the welfare of our state and our Kannada community and that commitment is without any expectation of reward.
I will be attending the Rajyotsava program as Chief Guest, and look forward to meeting our Kannada Community in the UAE.
