Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar opens five-day training for tourist guides

Mysuru: A five-day training cum workshop for tourist guides began at Mysuru Palace Board on Monday. It is intended at sharpening the nuances of the guides in conveying the right information to tourists and visitors alike.

Mysuru Palace Board along with Department of Archeology, Museums and Heritage and Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has jointly organised the workshop open for private tourist guides.

Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inaugurated the workshop at Palace Board.
After inaugurating the workshop Wadiyar said “tourist guides play an important role and the information conveyed by them assumes importance”.

Resource persons like N S Rangaraju, Shelvapillai Iyengar, P V Nanjaraja Urs, Prof Usharani, Jyothi Shankar, L N Swamy and Pavamana, Shruthi Parvathi, V Ranganath, Dr Rohith Eshwar, Banuprakash Acharya, R H Kulakarni, Shanmukha Gunaverma are roped in for the purpose.

They will impart training on the history of Mysuru, Wadiyars the erstwhile kings of Mysuru, tourist destinations, mainly indigenous art and crafts of Mysuru and paintings on display inside the palace.
