Writer Prof Maleyur Guruswamy no more
1 min readMysuru: Writer Prof Maleyur Guruswamy (77) passed away after a brief illness in the city on Thursday.
Maleyur Guruswamy was also the incumbent State President of Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat since 2020.
A native of Maleyur village in Chamarajanagar district, Guruswamy was a resident of Ashrama road, Hinkal in the city.
A former faculty of Kannada in JSS College, Maleyur Guruswamy was a prolific writer who had published several books, with ‘Samsa’ being his recent novel.
He was also the chief editor of volumes brought out on ‘Gowrishankara Swamigala Samagra Sahitya’.
According to family sources, Maleyur Guruswamy was undergoing treatment at JSS Hospital, M G Road for health ailments since a month. He breathed his last at about 12.30 am.
The mortal remains will be kept at his house till 10 am. Later, the mortal remains will be kept for sometime at JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
The funeral will be performed at his native Maleyur in the afternoon.
He is survived by his wife Jayanti, daughter Ananya, son-in-law, grand kid and a large number of students and relatives.
