Writer K B Siddaiah dies of accidental injuries

Bengaluru: Writer K B Siddaiah who was undergoing treatment for the injuries suffered in an accident, has passed away on October 18. He was a resident of Upparalli in Tumakuru. 

Siddaiah had suffered injurues recently in a car crash when he was going to his farm at his native Kenkere in Magadi taluk near Bengaluru. The driver of the car was killed on the spot, while Siddaiah had sustained serious injuries in his lungs and also haemmhorage.

He was undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospitals in the city, where he succumbed.

Born in a dalit family in Kenkere, Siddaiah was a English professor by profession, but was a prolific writer in Kannada. He had written- Bakala, Daksha Katha Devi and Anathma (Poetry), Nalku Shreshta Satyagalu (Translation) and had edited ‘ Dalita Kavya’.

He was the recipient of Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award in 2004.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son.
