Writer, folk expert H K Rajegowda dies at 83

Mysuru: Writer and researcher H K Rajegowda passed away on Thursday.
He was 83.
A native of Hanumanahalli in K R Pet taluk in Mandya, Gowda was residing in Saraswatipuram in the city. He is survived by his daughter Chetana, son Dinesh Chandra and son-in-law IPS officer K T Balakrishna. 
Rajegowda had served as the senior researcher at Kuvempu Institute For Kannada Studies (KIKS), University  of Mysore and as special officer of NGEF, till his retirement.
Rajegowda who had 62 works to his credit, had edited various books, besides involving in translations, documenting history, life history, plays, criticism and felicitation volumes.
He was a recipient of various awards like- Gi Sham Pa Award, Chunchasri Award, M L Srikantegowda Research Award, Folk Award, Vishwamanava Award, Karnataka Janapada Academy Award, H D Chowdaiah Literature Award.
According to the family members, the last rites will be performed on Friday at 12 noon at his native Hanumanahalli.
Dr Y D Rajanna, president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru district unit has condoled the death of Rajegowda.
