World Cancer Day! Read ‘Real Heroes Who Defeated Death’

Mysuru: On World Cancer Day a bunch of cancer survivors narrated their ordeal and what moulded them to brave odds to continue to live against the dreaded cancer.

City based popular Suyog Hospital, Sanjeevini Cancer Care Trust, Maharani’s Commerce and Management College for Women jointly organised World Cancer Day at Kalamandira on February 04.

 
Mayor Tasneem, actor Mandya Ramesh and writer Maleyuru Guruswamy inaugurated the programme. 
 
Later Maleyuru Guruswamy described “cancer is like a demon”.
 
Ramesh Bilikere a cancer survivor who authored the book “Baduki Bandavaru” in kannada now translated into English by My Na Lokesh as “Real Heroes Who Defeated Death”, said “It is necessary to build a healthy society”. 
 
Mayor Tasneem said healthy food and life style and awareness are the ways to fight the dangerous cancer disease.
 
Actor Mandya Ramesh stated that Ramesh Bilikere, who fought cancer is model for our society. We must to practice good preventive habits. Today’s danger is mobile phones, selfies, tiktok which are not good for a healthy society. It is spoiling creativity and humanity of younger generation, he added. 
 
Dr S P Yoganna, Dr Suyog, cancer survivor Girish, journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar, Dr Rajendra Prasad were present.
