Workshop on Greater Mysuru: Issues and Challenges on March 15

Mysuru: Mysuru is at the cusp of a major urban transformation. With rapid population growth, economic expansion, and infrastructural development, the city is now set to evolve into Greater Mysuru.
In light of this, the School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore, the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI) Mysuru Regional Centre, and Karnataka Regional Chapter, are jointly organizing a one-day workshop on “Greater Mysuru: Issues and Challenges” on March 15 at 10.30 am at Prof Dr K S Rangappa Auditorium, Manasagangotri, Mysuru.
“Greater Mysuru is an inevitable transformation, and structured planning is the need of the hour. This workshop will address critical concerns such as urban expansion, infrastructure development, governance, and sustainable city planning. By learning from national and international case studies, we aim to create a roadmap that ensures Mysuru’s planned growth while preserving its rich heritage.”
The inaugural session will feature:

• Inaugural Address: M K Savitha, KAS, Registrar, University of Mysore
• Presidential Address: Dr L Shashikumar, Chairman, Karnataka Regional Chapter, ITPI & Director, BDA (TPM), Bengaluru
• Guests of Honour: S B Honnur, Council Member, ITPI, New Delhi and A N Raghunandan, KAS, Commissioner, MUDA.
