Women’s Day at ATMECE! Women don several roles, integral to fellow beings, says Dr Tulasi Ramachandra

Mysuru: Women Cell-ATMECE in association with CICC-ATMECE organised “International Women’s Day” at ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru recently.
Dr Tulasi Ramachandra Chairperson, Nirtyalaya Trust, Mysuru, was the chief guest.
Dr Tulasi Ramachandra who spoke about the equality of women said “Women don several roles: As a mother, As a sister, As a daughter, As a daughter-in-law etc. Likewise the contribution of the women and every role she occupies is very important to fellow beings”.
She gave a few tips to the girl students on how to be brave and smart.
She concluded by saying that “the smile is the biggest jewel that anyone can have and suggested imbibing this in daily life”.
Dr Poornima Priyadarshini C G Senior Scientist, Dept of Molecular Nutrition CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru was the Guest of honour.
Dr Poornima Priyadarshini mentioned the reasons behind less women achievers when compared to men achievers.
She also mentioned that success comes with millions of sacrifices. The family responsibilities, gender stereotypes, lesser role models, not being taken seriously, lesser leadership roles, systematic barriers and structural factors, lesser opportunities in top management, limited mobility, are the challenges that the women face in their career.
She concluded by saying there are a lot of opportunities as well and one has to make use of it.
Principal Dr L Basavaraj mentioned that various events have taken place on the campus and congratulated the winners and participants.
He mentioned that the contribution from women for the overall development of a nation is appreciable, and thanked the organizing committee for making the event a grand success.
