Mysuru: In a first of its kind, the JSS Urban Haat is allowing self-help groups to promote their products to help them create market and network in a state-level exhibition-cum-sale scheudled to be held from February 28 to March 8.
At least 50 self-help groups from various parts of Karnataka will participate in the exhibition showcasing various products that include handicrafts, handloom, embroidery, toys, leather, homemade, Uttar Karnataka food delicacies, jute, artificial jewellery among others, said National Urban Livlihoods Mission (NULM) Director Arundhathi Chandrashekar at a press meet here on Wednesday.
District in-charge minister V Somanna will inaugurate the exhibition.
JSS Technical Education director C Ranganataiah who was also present said that Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission is implemented by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Government of Karnataka. Under this Mission, Women Self-help Groups will be formed and revolving fund will be provided, he added.
JSS Urban Haath Co-ordinator Rakesh Rai was present.
