With SELCO let women lead a life of self-reliant: ZP CEO Sheikh Tanveer Asif

Mandya: Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sheikh Tanveer Asif said that, women should take advantage of various schemes of Central and State Governments and lead a self-reliant life.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Samriddhi Santhripti Women Entrepreneurs workshop organised at the Zilla Panchayat’s Kaveri Hall on Friday.
A number of self-employment tools for creating employment for women are available at SELCO. There are various types of grants available in the Central and State Government which women should avail.
He said that there are many opportunities for women to lead a self-reliant life, so it is very good to take advantage of them.
Many girls find it very difficult to lead life, while economically and mentally weak girls have lost interest in life. For such girls, a word of mine is, to fulfill the responsibilities of the house to lead a life, SELCO organisation has tools available for self-employment.
This programme is specially designed for women workers. A woman can achieve anything if she puts her mind into it, so the Central and State Government have thought about this and has also provided various types of subsidies for women, he said.
Addressing the programme, SELCO DGM Guruprakash Shetty shared information about the employment tools available in Selco organisation.
He gave information about the opportunities available for women to lead a self-reliant life.
SELCO company has life based solar powered equipment like milking machine, furnace machine, butter churning machine, sewing machine, roti making machine, chiller machine, sugarcane milking machine, threshing machine.
He said that cutting machine, such as dairy farming, agriculture, food processing unit, livelihood unit, solar equipment for the disabled and many other job creation equipment should be used.
More than 300 women participated in the program.
Mandya NRLM Project Director Sanjeevappa K P, District NABARD Development Manager Harshita B V, District NALM Skill Development Officer Nagananda R, Joint Director of Agriculture Ashok V S were present in the programme.
Karnataka Grameen Bank Regional Office Manager Salim Raju, PMM Yojana, Ashwin Kumar H. V, Mandya Branch SELCO Manager Abhilash H N and other officials were present.
