Wildlife conservation researcher Ramkumar dies of Covid-19

Tamil Nadu: Renowned wildlife conservation researcher and elephant corridor activist Ramkumar died due to Covid-19 complications at a hospital in Kumbakonam on Tuesday.

Ramkumar, a 42 year old young researcher was a native of Siragalli in Kumbakonam district in Tamil Nadu. He was expected to be discharged from the hospital today.

As a part of Wildlife Trust of India, he had extensively worked on 200 elephant corridors across the country, recalled noted wildlife activist Joseph Hoover.

Ramkumar worked on Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bannerghatta elephant corridor issues. He was a prominent personality in South India attached to wildlife conservation.

Ramkumar’s close associate Vijay Krishnaraj told Mysoorunews.com “Ramkumar was a pure soul and we worked for the last 15 years together for the cause of elephant corridors.”
