Especially, the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens’ reopening was inaugurated on Monday and District Incharge minister S T Somashekar and Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh were present.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Mysuru Zoo was shut on March 15 and after nearly 70 days, the Zoo is now open for visitors. However, it has ensured all safety measures like social distancing, wearing mask and sanitization. Visitors will have to undergo thermal screening at the entrance.

All the enclosures have been given high security. Since, visitors have no contact with animals like in foreign countries, we hope good footfall, said  Executive director Ajith Kulkarni.
