We are committed to save Maharani’s NTMS school, vouch activists

1 min read

Mysuru: As the row over Viveka Memorial involving Maharani’s NTMS School and Niranjana Mutt has taken another turn, those fighting for the cause of the school wanted the High Court order to be implemented without affecting the school as well as memorial plans.

Addressing media at Jaladarshini Guest House on Monday, rationalist Prof K S Baghawan, Prof B P Maheshchandra Guru, historian P V Nanjaraje Urs and Kannada activist Arvind Sharma alleged that “Maharani’s NTMS movement was deliberately diverted and it has now taken a caste centric turn. We activists who strongly raised the voice to save school stick to the same agenda.”

Nanjanraje Urs alleged that some of the activists in the name of socialists have joined hands with those in favour of Niranjana Mutt. We are away from the protest and withdrew after 52 days of stir, he said.

Activists claimed that “we are committed to save the school. We won’t support any caste centric agitation and activities at the spot.”
