Mysuru: Cooperation Minister S T Somashekar on Tuesday said that “Former minister R Roshan Baig quit Congress party as he was fed up of internal bickerings”.
Speaking to media persons, Somashekar said ” Baig didn’t come out of Congress on the assurance of BJP. He has been arrested by CBI that is investigating into IMA scam. If he is proven innocent, he will be out of CBI net. Had Baig willed the party would have given ticket to contest by- election from Shivajinagar to the Assembly. However, the party had not given him any kind of assurance”, reiterated Somashekar denying any links with the party.
Somashekar also clarified that all are one in the party. There are no groups like- Bombay Team, Old Team and New Team. We are all one BJP team. Just because one or two leaders speak in a dissenting tone, it doesn’t mean that there are differences in the party, said Somashekar.
