Water level at KRS touches 100 ft and Kabini dam fills to the brim

Mysuru: Monsoon is finally catching up in Cauvery catchment area as water level at Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) reservoir touched 100 ft while the maximum level is 124.8 ft.

As several parts of the catchment area are witnessing downpour inflow to the reservoir has increased. As on July 25, the inflow is registered at 48025 cusec and outflow is at 5449 cusec.

Meanwhile, Kabini dam too has received 25896 cusec inflow and as on July 25, the water level at Kabini dam was registered at 2289.51 ft and water level is almost at the brim as the maximum level is at 2284 ft.

Increased inflow the dams and reservoirs has brought cheer among farmers, who were planning to intensify the protest demanding release of water.
