Mysuru: The raging controversy over Karnataka State Waqf Board claiming properties, has extended to Varuna constituency represented by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Farmers of Rangasamudra village of T Narsipur taluk of Mysuru district, in Varuna constituency are worried over this new development.

The land bearing Survey No 257 of Rangasamudra has been marked as Wakf property and is mentioned in the latest records as Khabrastan of Muslims, which was earlier mentioned as Kapanayyatopu. But it was also the stronghold of the Hindu community.
Here are some ancient graves of the Hindu community.

As the said land has now been declared as Sunni Waqf property, the villagers are worried about this.

This place is just 200 metres away from the Cauvery river bank and the drinking water supply unit for Rangasamudra village is also located at this place.

Farmer leaders are outrageous that, this land has suddenly been declared as a waqf property.

Farmer leader Attahalli Devaraj has expressed outrage over this and has warned of severe struggle, if the Waqf Board’s claim is not revoked.
