Mysuru: With the district administration issuing a new advisory making it mandatory even for movie goers to carry Covid negtive report to cinema halls, the film film exhibitors are a worried lot.
In the wake of surge in Covid cases in its second wave in the district, the district administration has made it mandatory for six sectors where Covid negative report not older than 72 hours is compulsory for the visitors for a period of 10 days from April 10 to 20. They are- tourist spots, resorts, convention hall, party hall, recreation clubs and film theatres are brought under it.
Gayathri Talkies’ M R Rajaram (in photo above) told Mysoorunews.com “already government reverted to fifty per cent seating norm from April 8 which has affected theatres. Though Covid-19 cases are increasing, the testing centers are less in the city. It is practically unable to insist every movie buff to bring Covid-19 Negative Report from April 10,” he said.
Rajaram termed it as near lockdown measures, which has already robbed the sheen of entertainment industry with hassle free service to public not possible.
