Vishwanath took Rs 15 crore for poll expenses, but spent little: V Sreenivas Prasad

Mysuru: A day after BJP MLC A H Vishwanath called him ‘Alemaari’ (political nomad), Chamarajanagar BJP MP V Sreenivas Prasad laid bare the political secrets of the former.

Taking a dig at Vishwanath, Sreenivas Prasad alleged that “Vishwanath took Rs 15 crore during election and spent Rs four lakh to five lakh and took home Rs 10 crore. Who has got petrol bunk and bar?” questioned Prasad mocking at various businesses of his party colleague.

Reminding Vishwanath about how he sought his help in joining Congress after alleging ill treatment meted out in JDS, Prasad said “You came home saying that despite being JDS State President you weren’t able to get ticket to a candidate of your choice for the municipal election to K R Nagar. I told you to speak to B S Yediyurappa and after talks, Yediyurappa thought it wise to induct Vishwanath to the party considering his seniority”.

About Vishwanath’s love hate relationship when in Congress, Prasad said “after losing the election, he sought money and power from Siddaramaiah and quit the party later”.

Siddaramaiah can be better described as ‘Alemaari’ as he is searching for the safe constituency even after serving five years as the chief minister.

“Vishwanath was’nt elected directly from the voters. He was nominated as MLC by the party fulfilling his ambition”, said Prasad.

If I complete the remaining term as MP, I will be completing 50 years in politics. These kind of talks doesn’t suit Vishwanath, said Prasad for the latter making a mockery of him.

He also reminded Vishwanath, how he fought for accommodating him in the cabinet, while you were sleeping in K R Nagar.
