Mysuru: The much awaited Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial works will commence from September 15. It will be a fitting tribute to the actor whose 70th birth anniversary is on September 18.
On Wednesday actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and her son-in-law Aniruddh met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. They invited the chief minister for the foundation laying ceremony on September 15, organised virtually in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
The legendary actor Vishnuvardhan’s memorial will come up on five acres of land at Halalu village opposite Udbur gate on Mysuru-HD Kote Road. The actor passed away at the age of 59 in 2009.
Though the mortal remains of the actor were cremated on the premises of Abhiman studio in Bengaluru, the memorial couldn’t be built due to some dispute.
Later, the land was identified in Mysuru and the works on building compound wall and other basic works are already completed.
