Chamarajanagar: Deputy Commissioner M R Ravi has served notices on two nursing homes in Hanur taluk for violating Covid-19 rules and guidelines.

The deputy commissioner in his notice has stated that, two hospitals were not referring the patients to Covid testing centres after diagnosing ILI and SARI cases. The notice has been served to Dr Prakash of Bharati Nursing Home and Dr Manjunath of Sneha Nursing Home.

This follows a recent visit of Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar also the district incharge minister to these two nursing homes which were found violating the rules. Besides, patients were not following social distancing and wearing mask.

Though it was instructed to collect RAT and VTM kits from the taluk health officer to collect throat swabs, there was no response from them. In this wake, there are instances of infected persons treated at these nursing homes are being admitted to government hospitals in the latter stages, causing more infections and adding to death rates.

All these amounts to clear violation of section 58 of disaster management Act 2005 and Sections 11 and 11(a) of KPME Act.

Hence you should furnish clarifications on why action should not be initiated. In case of any failure to reply, suitable action will be taken, the deputy commissioner has warned the doctors.
