Vande Bharat Express Train now connects 22 states, records overwhelming occupancy rate

Mysuru: India’s first semi high-speed Vande Bharat Express train continues to enjoy patronage since its first run between New Delhi and Varanasi in Feb, 2019. The first train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and these trains, a leading example of Make-in-India initiative are state-of-the-art semi high speed distributed power trains. They are indigenously designed and are being manufactured currently in Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and come with international safety and comfort related standards including Train Collision avoidance system (Kavach).

The Chennai Central-Katpadi-Bengaluru-Mysuru train connects the Heritage City with the State capital.
Tested at a speed of 180 kmph, Vande Bharat Express is operating at a maximum speed of 160 kmph. It aims to provide a totally new travel experience to passengers. Speed, Safety and Service are the hallmarks of this train.

So far, 36 services of Vande Bharat Trains have started on 18 routes connecting 22 states and more than 100 districts of the country stimulating local economies and supporting small businesses in the areas it serves. Presently, Vande Bharat is serving people at 99 Unique stoppages. So far (till May 21, 2023), Vande Bharat Trains have covered 38,43,934.12Kms which is equivalent to 95.64 rounds of the Earth.

Besides, the occupancy rate in Vande Bharat Express Trains is quite high. As per the data from April 1, 2023 to May 30, 2023, all services of Vande Bharat trains have high patronage. And Kasargod- Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod Vande Bharat service has achieved an overwhelming occupancy rate of a whopping 190 per centko!.
