Vaccination for people in the age group of 15 years to 18 years: 1.47 lakh identified in Mysuru

Mysuru: Vaccination drive for the people in age the group of 15 to 18 years will start from Monday and the plan is to reach the target in 15 days.

Across the country vaccination for the people in the age group of 15 years and  18 years ( Class 9 to class 12) is the target group.

Mysuru district Administration and Health and Family Welfare department along with Department of Public Instructions and Department of Pre-University Board is prepared with the list of students and institutions.

In Mysuru, 1.47 lakh  (1,47,279) students are eligible to take the jab, and the district administration has set a goal to cover cent per cent target within 15 days. To achieve the target, 100 teams are formed to administer vaccine against Covid-19 on campus.

District incharge minister S T Somashekar will launch the vaccination drive at Maharani’s PU College.

Similarly in Mandya 77,000 students from class nine to second PUC students are identified and students need to show their aadhaar Card or school/ college ID card.

In the border district Chamarajanagar already health department officials have interacted with Education department and SDMC members regarding the drive.

The district administration has constituted 320 members teams including doctors, nurses and medical staff. The target is 45,000 and plan is on the anvil to give the second dose after 28 days.

Kodagu district has set a list of 26,049 students. Here special task is given to Asha and Anganwadi workers to bring the dropouts aged between 15 and 18 years for vaccination.

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced about vaccine to children above 15 years. State government held meetings with the deputy commissioners and Education department officials to effectively implement the drive.
