Mysuru: Real Star Upendra is truly a star when it comes to helping others. With Covid induced lockdown bringing everything to a halt, the junior artistes of Kannada filmdom in the city are also the worst hit, with shooting cancelled for an indefinite period.

To address their needs, Uppi sent vegetables and grocery kits that was distributed to them on Tuesday.

Junior artistes of Kannada filmdom gathered at Vidya Bharathi Convention Hall in Mysuru.

Vegetables and grocery kits were distributed to about 360 junior artistes at Vidya Bharathi Convention Hall in the city. Junior Artistes Association President Mysuru Shivu  distributed them.

Mysuru has nearly 500 junior artistes and dancers. They are again struggling due to Covid-19 second wave. After government announced lockdown most of them became jobless.

Upendra helped cinema workers in Bengaluru too, followed by Mysuru.

Shivu says “we had not expected this second wave of the pandemic. Earlier also our Sandalwood stars helped hundreds of junior artistes. Now, Upendra sent kits and 1000 kilograms of vegetables. We are all thankful to Upendra,” Mysuru Shivu added.
