UoM, Journalism department, Golden Jubilee Lecture Series! Senior journalist Ishwar Daitota to make a start

Mysuru: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Mysore  is celebrating its 50th year of existence.

To reminisce Golden Jubilee Lecture Series is being launched from May 28 at 3 pm through Google Meet, according to the information shared by Sapna Naik a faculty of the department on the Facebook page of the department- Journo Club, Manasagangotri, Mysuru.

First in the series is the lecture by proud alumni, Ishwar Daitota of 1975-77 batch who will share his journey in this field.

Started in the year 1971, the department has gifted finest of journalists to the media world.

In terms of education, exposure, development of the students, the department has been striving hard to keep up with the industrial needs from time to time.

Many doyens of journalism have studied, walked in the corridors of our department and have brought laurels to the university.

Recalling all the struggle, contribution, achievements of the students who have passed out of our department, a lot more is to be done in the coming years to make it much more stronger.

We recall the names of all those teachers who have laid a strong foundation for the department. Join us in the year long programme which we will be planning and executing to make this 50th year a remarkable one.
