Even in the previous year a similar initiative had been taken. Earlier during floods also, we had made our contribution in the interest of public welfare. Now, we will be giving one day salary, about almost Rs 35 lakh to the government for the management of Covid-19.”

University of Mysore was the first University in the State that joined hands with the government in the battle against Covid-19. About more than 1,400 staff including UOM vice chancellor, teaching and non- teaching staff will be donating their day’s salary.

According to a notification released by the office of Registrar on Thursday ” The university has appealed to its staff to express their willingness.
