Uninvited for farmers day, ryots stage flash protest

Mysuru: Peeved over not invited for Farmers Day, farmers laid siege to M H Marigowda Auditorium at Curzon Park in the city on December 23.
Zilla Panchayat and Agriculture Department had organised the Farmers Day at the auditorium, when the farmers barged into the hall and staged a flash protest.
It led to chaos and confusion for awhile as the farmers sat on the podium even as the dignitaries were seated on the dais.
The farmers questioned as to why the farmers were not invited for the event.
ZP CEO K Jyoti who inaugurated the programme succeeded in convincing that “The programme will be organised in Association with farmers organisation at every taluk level in the future”.
The farmers who were convinced over the Assurance withdrew their protest, before facilitating the programme.
