Uddhav Thackeray quits as Maharashtra CM

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray submitted his resignation, after the Supreme Court refused to grant a stay on the floor test scheduled on Thursday.
With the resignation of the chief minister, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) a coalition of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress which was lacking the numbers in the Legislative Assembly has collapsed.
Addressing the people of the state through Facebook live, Thackeray also announced his resignation as Member of Legislative Council.
Hitting at the rebels like Eknath Shinde and Gulabrao Patil, Thackeray accused them of dethroning Balasaheb Thackeray’s son.
Thackeray also thanked NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for their support to form the coalition government.
